Tip a Glass at the Taos Winter Wine Festival

Celebrate & Stay at Taos Ski Valley

If you haven’t yet toasted the delights of the fermented grape at Taos Winter Wine Festival events in Taos Ski Valley, you are missing out on the perfect way to top off a day of carving the ski resort’s groomers or floating atop fresh powder in the steeps!

This year, you have eight, ski valley-based, wine-centric events from which to choose.

Slope-side festivities kick off on Friday, Feb. 1, with a selection of chef’s luncheons, seminars, and tastings including an Après Ski Tasting (Martini Tree Bar,  3:30-5:30 p.m., $45). Ski valley events culminate the following night (Saturday, Feb. 2) with a Grand Tasting featuring more than 150 different wines from 30 participating wineries as well as nibbles from a dozen of Taos and Taos Ski Valley’s finest restaurants (Taos Ski Valley Resort Center, 4:30-7:00 p.m., $95).

If you’re going to be imbibing, you may wish to forgo driving.

Instead, consider staying at one of many lodging options within spitting distance of the festivities. From a multitude of condos—including the spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom Kandahar Condominiums—to the pet-friendly Alpine Village Suites; to the old world, all-inclusive, European ski-lodge charm of the Hotel St. Bernhard; to the elegance of The Blake; there is a wide selection.
After all, wouldn’t you rather take your time sipping all the different varietals, and learning about terroir, at peace in the knowledge that a soft pillow and warm bed—or hot tub—await you within walking distance? (And to have the type of vista pictured to the left, right outside your front door? Check out our "Hot Deals.")

There’s still time to book a weekend-long “staycation” or longer, last-minute getaway enabled by new, direct Taos Air flights to our corner of the Land of Enchantment.

Our cup runneth over—come partake of it!
